2012 promises to be an extremely exciting year for Atwood Community Gardens. Thanks to the Lowe’s Heroes Extreme Garden Makeover, we are closer to establishing Atwood Community Gardens as a premiere S.T.E.M.-based urban agriculture training center and outdoor event facility. As we address the food insecurity issues of the Westview Community — a nationally recognized food desert — we want to empower youth with the tools they need identify, address, reduce and/or eliminate the socio-economic conditions that are negatively impacting their community. However, we want them to have a little fun in the process. That’s why Atwood Community Gardens will offer a host of features that will make learning fun. Which feature would you look forward to using at your next visit? Use our poll to let us know.
